Harlan

We just adopted a Maine Coon. Anything different about caring for them?
Maine Coons are great — big personalities. A few things: they need regular brushing (2-3 times a week minimum) because that thick coat mats easily. They also tend to be more social than most cats, so don't be surprised if she follows you around.
She's already obsessed with water. Is that normal?
Very normal for Maine Coons — a lot of them love water. Some will play in their water bowl or try to join you in the shower. A pet fountain is great for them since they prefer running water.
How big will she get?
Females usually reach 10-15 lbs, but they grow slowly — Maine Coons aren't fully mature until 3-4 years old. She'll keep filling out for a while.

Built for your breed

A golden retriever has different exercise needs than a French bulldog. A Maine Coon is a different cat than a Siamese. Generic pet advice ignores all of that.

Harlan knows your pet's breed and adjusts everything — exercise suggestions, grooming tips, temperament insights, common quirks — based on what's actually relevant.

Mixed breeds too

Not sure what your pet is? Send a photo and Harlan will take its best guess. Even if you just know part of the mix ("she's part lab, part... something"), Harlan can work with that.

As you share more about your pet over time — their energy level, coat type, personality — Harlan gets better at tailoring suggestions.

Growing up

What a puppy needs at 3 months is different from what they need at 1 year or 5 years. Breed needs change with age — exercise levels, food requirements, grooming schedules, even temperament.

Harlan tracks your pet's age and adjusts its suggestions as they grow. No need to re-explain where your pet is in life every time you ask a question.
